What To Expect

Welcome to Living Waters!

It is rather intimidating to walk into a new place, and especially a new church, for the first time.  Many questions flood our minds:  Where do I park?  Where do I enter?  Where do I take my kids?  What should I wear?  What does the worship service consist of and how long will it last?  We would like to answer some of those questions for you before you walk onto the church grounds.

We are located on Talbert Avenue just west of the Brookhurst/Talbert intersection.  You can turn into the first driveway on the right after the stoplight on Foster/Cashew Street.  Our guest and families with small children parking is located in the marked stalls on the first row of the lot.

Everyone enters through the two Worship Center doors on the right side of the building where you will be greeted by volunteers, typically with a hug or a handshake placing the monthly bulletin and any other relevant information into your hands.   Should you arrive before the services begin, complementary coffee, water, and donuts are available in our Guest Service Courtyard area.

  • If you have children, turn to your left and proceed down the hallway on your right to the nursery and Children’s room where you will be greeted by our Children’s Ministries volunteers to check in your child(ren).
  • Others can enter into the main Worship Center through the three sets of double doors.

As you enter the worship center you will see casually dressed attendees in clothing ranging from jeans to suit jackets (men), jeans to dresses (women).  The music is lively – featuring a choir, live band and vocal team leading the songs.  The messages are relative given by speakers that are members of our pastoral staff, utilizing the Bible for practical instruction for living life victoriously.  The length of a normal service is one hour and thirty minutes.

Once a quarter we host a Family Service where the entire family is together in the worship service.  These services are energetic and feature our children, youth, and adults on the stage leading the service.  The message for Family Service is geared towards our children, yet relatable to the youth and adults, and typically utilize dramas and illustrations to focus on the topic.  Family Service length is about one hour.

We hope this elevates some of your anxiety about your first visit to Living Waters.  We are excited to meet you.

Our Vision

A Place To Connect...

  • With Jesus Relationally - Finding and developing a life-changing, Spirit-led personal relationship with Jesus as Savior.
  • With Christ's Family - Finding a place to belong, develop relationships, and get involved in serving others.
  • With God’s Message - Finding instruction and encouragement in God’s Word [the Bible] for daily godly living.
  • With An Eternal Mission - Finding, by the equipping of the Holy Spirit, the passion to reach into our communities and affect lives for Jesus Christ.

Our Mission

In order to fulfill what Jesus said in Matthew 28:19, "Go therefore and make disciples of all nations..." and learning from the missional church example from Paul in 1 Corinthians 9:19-23, our mission at Living Waters Christian Fellowship is to be a resource to each individual so that we all personally.

  • Win someone to Christ
  • Add that person to the body in relationship with other Christians
  • Mentor that person into Christian Maturity
  • Motivate those we mentor in fulfilling their purpose in life.

Our Focus

Family Focused Fellowship

We believe in Families: whatever that may look like in your particular family (singles, married - with or without children, single parent, etc.). We committed to walking alongside each person that attends Living Waters helping them navigate through life.

History of Living Waters

Fountain Valley Church of God, later renamed Living Waters Christian Fellowship, was established in February of 1973, under the leadership of Pastor Don Miller and his family. The small congregation of twenty-seven met at Faith Lutheran Church in Huntington Beach, California until the spring of 1973, when the congregation purchased and broke ground on this present two-acre site and began construction of the first sanctuary in July of 1974.

In June of 1979, Pastors Dan and Finnabea Moore accepted the pastorate of Living Waters.  Pastor Dan believed that God had given him a mandate to reach the lost of Orange County committing to excellence and integrity through Care and Development, Global Evangelism, Christian Education, and Christ-centered Worship.  In 1984, due to incredible growth, construction began on a larger sanctuary, and in 1992, with over 300 in attendance, construction of an education and office building began.  The congregation cancelled its debt of approximately $850,000 in 1998.  With continued growth, the congregation began a final construction project on this site, a 2.25-million-dollar reconstruction of the facilities in January of 2015, creating larger children’s space, larger youth space, and redesigned office space.

In February of 2017 Pastor Dan Moore assumed a new role as Pastor Emeritus and on Sunday, February 26, 2017 passed the pastoral mantle to Pastors Deena and Kevin Querry, installing them as Co-Lead Pastors.  Living Waters reaffirmed its commitment to be a Family Focused Fellowship by concentrating attention on sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ and ministering to the entire family.  And that every member of the family, no matter the age, can find and develop a life-changing, Spirit-led personal relationship with Jesus as Savior and that they find a place to belong, develop relationships, and become involved in serving others.

Since its existence, Living Waters continues the mandate to connect with the lost and hurting families of Orange County.  God continues to breath new life into the church.  He leads us on an exciting journey in fulfilling a purpose that will lead us to realize dreams that were beyond our imagination.

Come and be part of history with us!
